TmaxSoft signs up Credica

New competitor is shaking foundations between Oracle and its independent software vendor community

TmaxSoft, a global software innovator focused on cloud, infrastructure, and legacy modernisation, has signed up Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Credica as a strategic technology partner.

Credica is a specialist cash collections and dispute management software company based in the UK with a strong client base across the country and mainland Europe. Its solutions encompass credit management, query management and management information.

TmaxSoft is targeting ISVs with its Oracle-compatible database Tibero, which can significantly increase profit margins for ISVs while still maintaining high technical standards for their applications.

Carl Davies, CEO of TmaxSoft UK, stated: “Databases act as the backbone for many ISV software applications that run on operating systems. Up until now, the traditional legacy software companies have been the bloodline for ISVs, which has been great for the big players but crippled ISV profits. We are offering an alternative with our Tibero solution, one that we are delighted to now offer to Credica.

“Over the past year we have been targeting a number of companies in the burgeoning software development sector in the UK as well as existing international software providers with a presence in the UK market. Our campaign has focused the opportunities ISVs have in moving away from expensive and complicated licensing agreements that are traditionally associated with the Silicon Valley giants, especially Oracle,” he added.

Howard Wilsher, Product Director at Credica, added: “We aim to deliver a complete solution for our clients by enabling the IT infrastructure to easily serve its full potential for the finance department. With over 15 years’ experience in Credit Management software, we provide a hugely successful solution that gives our clients significant benefits and results.  We have now established a relationship with TmaxSoft to further improve the value proposition we offer, and to give increased flexibility to the way our system is deployed.”

Carl Davies continued: “Oracle feels it has a captive market within the ISV community driven by a licence model that is often deemed to be too complex, too inflexible, at a cost that erodes ISV margins and is not reflective of how ISVs wish to do business. Whether ISVs are bound by strict prepayment programmes, are limited in their deployment strategy around virtualisation or are unable to provide value to ISVs through a flexible SaaS model, TmaxSoft provides a credible solution to these through our Tibero platform.”

With advanced enterprise software providers entering the UK market from new technology hotspots such as Asia, they are able to offer viable alternatives to the traditional Silicon Valley giants, but without the headache of complicated licensing structures. ISVs can significantly increase profit margins while still maintaining high technical standards for their applications.

First developed in 2003, Tibero was designed for large-scale enterprise environments. Through efficient resource utilisation, Tibero ensures optimal performance even when processing large data loads. Tibero active-active clustering technology can be highly scaled out to support increasing workloads and user numbers. By applying shared disk based clustering technology, it provides seamless and reliable services with various tools that enhance the productivity for new solutions development and system operations.
